If you are scrolling past when looking for something to eat, you may want to hit that back button.Β  I’ve had my brewery radar on lately and have been impressed with not only the great beer options these breweries have, but the food options as well.

The vast majority of the breweries around the Tampa Bay area have not only beer, but food to offer you as well.Β  I guess you could put brewery food in the same category as bar food.Β  But just as bar food has been elevated in a lot of places, brewery food has too, and most of them have a pretty good Smashburger on their menus.Β  Bullfrog Creek Brewing certainly does.

I post a lot of Smashburger reviews.Β  The majority have patties of around 3oz.Β  Most get smashed pretty thin and come way outside the bun.Β  It’s all good, but some are getting smashed too thin and the beef just isn’t thick enough to keep a lot of juiciness in it and the patties are way outside the bun so that one slice of cheese only covers the middle of the patty.

What I love about BCB’s smash is, the patties are 1/4 pound and they don’t flatten them to oblivion.Β  They are still smashed to the edge of the nicely toasted Martin’s Potato Rolls, they have a great char on them, they are seasoned pretty well and they are juicy, with a 78/22 fat content.Β  That’s a recipe for success.Β  You can choose between a few different cheeses.Β  I picked American.Β  Nicely melted.Β  Sliced pickled on the bottom.Β  I asked them for grilled onions instead of lettuce and tomato.Β  The sautΓ©ed onions were chopped up thicker and grilled perfectly.Β  I loved those onions.Β  Their sauce is Bullfrog sauce and it’s fantastic.

I really enjoyed their Custom Double Smash.
They have a nice inside bar area and a cool outside patio.  My beer choice was their Irish Red Ale called After Work Beer.  I loved it. 🍺
