After a little time off, I’m back out hitting every corner of the Tampa Metro Area, finding burgers that you, as well as myself, are going to like.
This fast-casual burger restaurant has a few locations dotted across the Tampa area. The menu includes burgers like the Tex-Mex Haystack and the Southern Fried Pickle, if you want to try something a little creative. I decided to stay in the comfort zone and ordered up the OMG Burger.
I said comfort zone, for some. Most will opt for the Bacon Cheesy, with a single 6.5 oz. patty, but the OMGers will want another patty tossed on to up the ante.
I’ve had the OMG a couple of times and the 100% Angus beef patties were juicy both times. The temp was a little different both times and the seasoning was a little light, but I was pretty satisfied with the beef. I chose American cheese, of course. I loved the flavor and texture of the applewood smoked bacon. They cook it exactly the way I like it. The raw onions, lettuce and roma tomatoes were fresh and delicious. The brioche bun was soft and nicely toasted. I would say that since the tomato slices are placed on the bottom bun first, it didn’t take very long for that bun to start taking on the juices and get a little soggy. I’d say tackle this big, bad boy quickly. The Burger 21 sauce they swipe on is fantastic. Get a couple extra sides for their tasty, salty fries.
A good burger it is.
