About a year ago, I talked about a place that promoted and specialized in the one of a kind combination of Smashburgers and Beignets. Unfortunately, the owners decided to sell the business, but fortunately, the new owners have kept the this wonderful duo and expanded on the menu.
Their new menu has nine different Smashburgers to choose from and nine different Beignets as well. All of the patties are 3 oz. of 100% Angus beef and each Smashburger is a double patty, except the Super Smash Burger gets tripled. You can always add as many patties as you like. The patties have a great crust on them. They are smashed very thin, but still have a little actual beefiness to them. The beef is cooked well done, but still had some juiciness. The seasoning was ok.
I liked how they did the grilled onions a little differently. It’s a full slice of an onion, grilled and then put on the patty. They do melt the cheese over the top of the grilled onion instead of melting the cheese on the patty and topping that with the onion. You will need to ask for cheese on the bottom patty. I’d like to not have to ask for that. The potato bun is a little denser, but fine. They add some of their tasty house sauce to the top bun.
I enjoyed the Smashburger. I would send someone here for it, and definitely for an order of Beignets. I had the Boston Cream Beignets and they were fantastic!
I think you’ll like the inside remodeling that was done, along with the outside patio.
After your visit, head down to the sponge docks. A cool area for shopping, eating and drinking, Greek style. You can also take a dolphin cruise, but don’t leave without a few sponges.
