I was visiting Twins Spring Training in Fort Myers over the weekend. We had a couple drinks and a couple of hot dogs at the ballpark, but as you can imagine, I was looking for a good burger. We found a cool spot just a few minutes away at the Bell Tower outdoor mall.
Twins Spring Training is over, but if you are checking out the Mighty Mussels of the Minor Leagues or just doing some shopping in the area, check out Burntwood Tavern. A nice patio and dining area and a cool indoor/outdoor bar will welcome you.
The BWT Smash has everything I look for in a burger. Two quarter pound beef patties. A nice char and juicy enough. American cheese is the choice. A few nicely grilled onions, thin sliced pickles on the bottom bun, and some very good special sauce swiped on the top and bottom buns. The sesame seed bun is soft and lightly toasted. My only issue would be the patties needing a lot more seasoning. This burger has a nice soft feel to it.
I’ll definitely get the BWT Smash again.
