Everyone knows what a Chicago Dog is or Chicago Style Pizza, but what is a Chicago Burger? I might need some help on this one.
Chicago native and owner, Brian, tells me Chicago’s Best Burgers are a collection of burger creations he’s enjoyed during his time in Chicago, his time managing a burger restaurant there and just things he loves to try and put on burgers. If you’ve followed me a while, you know if I’m building a burger, it’s a cheeseburger with grilled onions, pickles and sauce. The grass-fed beef from Fort Mccoy Ranch is ground daily and formed into balls. When you order, the ball of chuck gets smashed on the flattop and gets a nice crust on it. The 6oz. patty is juicy, seasoned well and hit my temp. Plenty of American cheese and a ton of nicely grilled onions. The pickles get switched up from the norm and are chopped and sit below the patty. The brioche bun is soft and toasted nicely. I added their delicious secret sauce. Satisfied with my build, I was.
Of the specialty burgers, Brian’s favorite is the #3 Rise and Grind. I raised that to a #2 Black and Blue. The beef patty was consistently juicy and seasoned well. Plenty of Blue Cheese crumbles and grilled onions. Two stripped of Applewood smoked bacon on the brioche bun. The house made bacon jam was not of the sweet variety I was used to. It had more of a darker, smoky bite to it. I’m curious what you think.
I was happy and enjoyed both burgers. Let me know if a burger on the menu hits home for you. I’ll be going back.
I recommend the Cheese Burger Rolls. Fries are fantastic!
