I don’t do back to backs very often, but after loving the first burger from El Magico and how such a different taste experience it was, I went back for a totally different style burger that made my taste buds do another happy dance.

El Magico specializes in Latin American food with their Tampa/Miami twist put on many of the menu items.  My first burger experience was a Cuban style Frita Cubana, which was fantastic.  For my second visit, I wanted to try a Dominican style burger.  The Chimi was calling my name.  The menu states it’s a beef pork burger, but this is an all beef, 80/20 grind.  That’s where the normal, all beef patty ends and the flavor is kicked up another level.  Added to the beef are fresh onion, green peppers, garlic and a proprietary spice to give it a nice depth of flavor.  It’s juicy and ultra flavorful.  You will notice the additions.

Yellow American cheese is nicely melted on top of the 5oz. patty.  Topping the patty are tomatoes, some pickled onions and pickled cabbage.  It’s not what you think of pickled onions and cabbage.  Both are lightly pickled daily so they stay more crispy, and they think the crunch adds a good contrast of texture for the burger.  I would agree.  Is there a sauce?  Oh yeah, it’s Chimi sauce.  It’s a mayo ketchup mix, freshened up with a little citrus.  So tasty.  The brioche bun is wonderful.  Soft and lightly toasted.

This flavor bomb is fantastic!
