Lakeland, Florida. Scenic lakes, beautiful parks, a vibrant downtown and home to Publix, our favorite supermarket that’s given us the amazing Pub Sub and a wonderful Key Lime Pie. I’m going to add one more Lakeland attraction of my own. One of the best burgers in the state of Florida.
The owners name is James. His daughter’s name is Mariyah. James loves burgers and he loves his daughter. There’s your food truck name.
The menu is not complicated. One Burger. Three ways. A single, a double and a triple. This is the burger that looks great when you see it, feels great when you hold it, and tastes great when you get to eat it.
The beef is fresh Angus. Juicy and seared nicely. James has his own special blend of seasoning for the beef. It’s seasoned very nicely. The patties are 2.8 ounces. Perfect to stack up until you hit that triple. James slices the cheese, which is American, every day. This is the burger where the cheese melts into every nook and cranny of the beef and becomes one with it. It’s a beautiful thing. He slices the onions thin and smashes them into the beef. Seems like an Oklahoma Onion Smashburger to me. The thin patties and the thin onions will cook quicker and get to you sooner. I can get behind that concept.
You’ll get a few tasty, thin sliced kosher pickles and a generous amount of delicious Mariyah’s sauce on top. The soft, pillowy, brioche bun is perfect. This is the burger you will finish and want to get right back in line for another one.
If you are heading up Highway 4 to Disney World, take a break from the traffic and stop at @mariyahs_hamburgersandshakes for one of the best burgers you will ever have. In fact, plan a road trip to Mariyah’s. Check out Lakeland after that.
I love the crinkle cut fries!
