I traveled up to St. Augustine for the work week at the @ringpowercat headquarters. My evening plans were to find a few good Burgers to talk about and do some sightseeing in the oldest city in the US. The good news is I found a few. I’ll call this my St. Augustine Burger Tour. Let’s kick it off.
I told my server that I was thinking of crafting my own burger from their menu option and she thought that was a great idea.
If you’ve followed me for any length of time, you already know what my build a burger will be.
This burger has a big feel to it. A big beef patty. It is a half pound, but feels even bigger. The beef is seasoned well and pretty juicy. American cheese is always my choice for a build. Sautéed onions come next. These were cut a little thicker and were just what I wanted. Pickle slices are another staple for me and I’m always looking for an aioli/mayo/sauce. I didn’t see one on the byob menu, but I found one used on another sandwich and asked for that. It was their 123 sauce and it was delicious. The bun was big, soft and lightly toasted.
The burger didn’t come out fully put together. It was served open faced. The top bun had the pickles and sautéed onions and the bottom bun had the beef patty and cheese on it. My requested sauce was on the side. A little assembly required? No problem. I poured the sauce over the top of the patty, closed that bad boy up and enjoyed the heck out of it. My St. Augustine Burger Tour was off to a good start.
