If I asked you what Florida was known for, what would you say?  Sunshine, beaches, gators or maybe humidity?  You’d be right with any of those, but the answer I’m looking for is Flamingos.

The most famous Florida Flamingo is Tampa International Airport’s Phoebe.  But, I’ve got one whose popularity is rising quickly.

A pink Flamingo is part of the Sandy’s logo, and after tasting their amazing Smashburgers, when you hear someone say, Flamingo, Sandy’s just might be the first thing that comes to mind.

You are going to love the dynamic duo/owners, Chef Manny and his wife, Lauren, of this tiny food trailer.  They both know the hospitality industry very well, and it was very apparent to my wife and I, after our first Smash Burger bites, that they know how to put together an amazing Smashburger.

This is another classic smash, beautifully executed.  The beef is 80/20 Angus from National Beef.  The double patties come in at 3 to 3.2 oz. each.  The beef is juicy, seasoned very well and has that perfect thin pattied sear.  American cheese is melted wonderfully on each patty.  Sliced pickles on the bottom bun.  This particular burger does not come with sautéed onions, but if I see another burger has them, I’m asking nicely to have them added.  Also, in true Flamingo style, they add some delicious “pink sauce” to the mix.  I think you recognize the bun.  A super soft, lightly toasted Martin’s Potato Roll is the great choice to finish off this delicious Smash Burger.  We were trying to name better burgers in the Tampa Bay area and we’re having trouble naming any.  It’s that good!

The last two burger clips are one of their other Smashburgers called The Hot Mess.  They kick up the heat level with sautéed jalapeños, pepper jack cheese & chipotle pink sauce.  It’s a fantastic Smashburger as well!

Their Fresh cut fries are amazing as well.  And salted!  Their sauces and coleslaw are made from scratch.

They are coming up on Sandy’s 3 year anniversary.  If you haven’t seen them in the New Port Richey area, your not looking.  They should be on your best list.

You are wondering about the name?  Sandy was Chef Manny’s Grandma.
