I love when pizza places put a burger on their menu.ย This pizza place had been on my list for a while, then one day I saw a burger video on their page that looked pretty darn good.

I like their Instagram page.ย They are informative and funny.ย The place was packed.ย Pizza boxes were flying out the front door.ย While you wait in line, they have all of the different pizzaโs you can get slices from.ย They look delicious.

I first saw the Smashburger as their May Sammy Special.ย It was called Joe Joeโs Smash Burger.ย Joey had been working there for 2 1/2 years and was leaving soon.ย His video showed him making the double smash with longer cut grilled onions, American cheese, a secret aioli, pickles and candied bacon on a toasted brioche sesame seed bun.ย He had a great cut shot showing the super juicy beef.ย It looked amazing!ย Good news.ย The response was so good, they put the smashburger on the permanent menu.
Fast forward, maybe since Joey left, the burger has lost a little of the love he showed it?ย Itโs a good burger though.ย The patties seem to be around 3oz.ย A nice crust on the patties.ย They were smashed very thin and I couldnโt quite get the juiciness out of them that Joey did.ย The seasoning was good.ย The cheese was nicely melted.ย I loved the longer, thicker cut grilled onions.ย The candied bacon didnโt seem overly candied, but it was cooked the way I like it.
The aioli had a nice flavor to it.ย I do wish it had a little more on it.ย The brioche, sesame seed bun was pretty soft and toasted nicely.ย My thoughts while eating it were, the patties are smashed too thin and that limits the juice coming from the beef.ย With the super thin smashed patties, I felt there was just too much bun and not enough beef.ย The bites felt a little dryer than I would have liked.
I did like the burger overall.ย Would I get it again or recommend it?ย Yes, I would.ย Iโd ask for a triple patty and for some more aioli.
The fries are giant.ย Loved them.
Iโll be back for a couple slices of pizza.
