BBQ restaurants have always been a favorite of mine.  Ribs, brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, Mac N Cheese, to name a few menu items I always go for.  But there’s one item that most BBQ places have not only added to their menus, but have made it a menu priority, it’s the burger.  They are proud of not only their standard BBQ fare, but of their burgers as well.  This place is no exception.

Chef Essi luvs to talk about his BBQ and he is definitely proud of his Luv Burger, for good reason.  It has a couple unique things that make it special and delicious.  He’s ballin’ up 80/20 black angus beef fresh everyday.  The 3oz. patties get flattened and then are cooked on the grill, flipped and then finished with a clamshell type press to sear the other side of that patty.  The patties are seasoned pretty well and are pretty juicy.  Let’s talk cheese.  This is where we get uniqueness and goodness.  He’s not going the sliced cheese route that everyone takes.  He’s using his scratch-made melted cheese creation that he uses for his Mac N Cheese.  He puts his own twist on how he makes it.  It’s absolutely delicious.  On a couple of his videos, you’ll see him pour that cheese sauce over each patty as he stacks them to make the burger.  That melted cheese covers the patties and seeps into every nook and cranny of the beef.  I luv how he does it.  It also adds a little saltiness to the burger.  It’s a fun talking point and that cheese is SO good.

Normally, I forgo the LTO, but I decided to go with the burger exactly how he makes it.  The veggies were very fresh and I did love the crisp slice of romaine lettuce on there.  There are a few pickles on top as well.  He’s got a killer sauce called fly sauce.  The fly sauce is a mayo ketchup base with a few added ingredients.  It’s delicious.  The brioche bun is a good choice.

This is a very good burger and has that melted cheese you are going to luv!

I wanted to try the Alabama Slamma, BBQ Beans and that Mac N Cheese.  All three were great.  He’s got a really good Cuban too.
