When I first moved to Tampa, I really had to search and dig to find true thin patty Smashburgers.  Since then, the Tampa Bay Smashburger scene has exploded.  Now, I’ve been craving more really good, juicy, beautifully temped, thick pattied burgers, that have been harder to find.  This gem put a big smile on my face!

This food truck is run by Chef William, his wife, Odalys, and their daughter Elisabet.  They started it after family and friends kept telling them to open one because everyone loved William’s cooking.  Well, their family and friends were right.  You’ll love this burger!

These, made fresh, 6oz. Angus patties, do get smashed on the flattop and get more than a dusting of William’s secret seasoning.  Tell him your desired temp and you’ll get it.  Mine is a true medium.  The beef was seasoned wonderfully and the smash gave it a nice char and it was very juicy.  All boxes checked!  American cheese melted perfectly.  I asked for grilled onions.  Grilled my way.  It comes with bacon and it’s my type of bacon.  Not overly crispy.  Just right.  I don’t always add bacon, but I just might every future visit.  I added thin sliced pickles.  They also add their House Sauce.  It’s ketchup, mayo, and a few other things added in.  It’s delicious.  The brioche bun is soft and nicely toasted.

You can add tomatoes and lettuce or other toppings if you like.  6 oz. of beef makes a good burger, but the 12 oz. Double Beef Burger might be just what you need.

If you are craving a little extra, juicy beef, not the typical thin patty smash, The Burger Nest should be your next stop.

The menu is mostly American-style food with a Latin touch, but their Cuban dishes came after they made the menu, so they keep them on the specials board and mention them to customers.

A couple of interesting menu items, an In N Out style Onion Wrapped Burger and a Lettuce Wrapped Burger for the No bun crowd.

Get them on your Burger list!
