Road tripped up to Cedar Key. This is authentic, old Florida. If you want to get away and detach from the hustle & bustle of the big city, this might be your place. It’s a tiny fishing village. You like clams, this is your place. It’s the clam capital of Florida. Burgers? I took my best shot.
Clams & Oysters are the attraction here. Ninety five percent of Floridas clams come from the Cedar Key area. Burgers? I read reviews, looked at pictures and went with my gut feeling. I was pleasantly surprised with The Tipsy Burger.
Fresh, never frozen, half pound, hand formed patties, flame grilled and temped to your liking. They nailed my medium request. The beef was juicy, but could have been seasoned better. Two slices of American cheese surprised me. I loved the grilled onions. Thick, short sliced and cooked perfectly. They were a little light on the sliced pickles. I think I got one. Need a couple more. The Tipsy sauce rocked. Needed a little more, but got some on the side for the fries. Always get a side of the burger sauce. The corn meal dusted bun was fine. It does come with lettuce and tomato. I opted out.
I enjoyed this burger. I definitely recommend a stop at The Tipsy Cow if you find yourself on Cedar Key looking for a good, solid burger and a great view!
Shout out to our server, Joel. Amazing customer service.
